The Thunderbird series replaces Blizzard’s Quatro series for the men and the Phoenix series replaces the Alight series on the ladies’ side. Featuring the same TrueBlend core technology and Active Carbon Armor found in the Thunderbirds, the Phoenix features female-specific mold and mount point. Pheonix: For hard-charging women, Blizzard developed the Phoenix series in the brand’s Women2Women program to create a carving ski where performance is top priority. The brand borrows its Active Carbon Armor technology from its race skis but puts it on the outside of the ski produce the vibration dampening and rebound results without making it so demanding to turn. Thunderbird: Focused on producing the smoothest carve possible, the Thunderbird skis feature Blizzard’s TrueBlend core technology-two types of wood specifically blended to produce a hard flex in the center of the ski for edge grip, a medium flex in front of and behind the binding for stability and control, and a soft flex in the tip and tail for easy turn initiation. In the brand’s all-mountain category, the Brahma 88 and 82 as well as the Black Pearl 88 and 82 received an update to feature Blizzard’s TrueBlend core technology.
